As a Senior Director Strategy - Software here at Honeywell, you will lead critical strategic initiatives and support long-term growth through rigorous analysis, structured problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide software and ARR growth strategies, defining multi-year plans that accelerate Honeywell’s transition to recurring, OpEx-based business models.
You will report to the SVP & Chief Strategy Officer and work out of either our Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA location on a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide software and ARR growth strategies, defining multi-year plans that accelerate Honeywell’s transition to recurring, OpEx-based business models.
- Drive Honeywell’s shift from traditional CapEx / one-time sales models to subscription and recurring revenue models, including SaaS, platform-based offerings, and lifecycle services.
- Establish strategic direction for ARR expansion, including pricing strategies, packaging, monetization frameworks, and performance metrics to scale predictable revenue streams.
- Partner with Strategic Business Groups (SBGs) to design and execute software-enabled growth strategies, ensuring alignment between product, commercial, and operational models.
- Identify and unlock value from Honeywell’s installed base by developing strategies to monetize through software, services, and integrated solutions.
- Leverage digital and software capabilities to transform customer value delivery, including remote monitoring and diagnostics, automation and AI-enabled operations, digital twins and connected solutions, and enhanced customer experience with reduced cost-to-serve.
- Guide the transition from on prem to cloud-based platforms and scalable digital ecosystems, enabling recurring engagement, data monetization, and continuous service delivery.
- Drive aftermarket and lifecycle services growth by embedding software into core offerings and expanding subscription-based service models.
- Support the development of next-generation business models, including AI-enabled operations and predictive capabilities, remote asset management and automation platforms, and outcome-based / performance-based offerings.
- Benchmark and align Honeywell’s strategy with leading software-industrial and platform companies (e.g., hardware + recurring ecosystem models), identifying best practices and competitive differentiators.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis focused on software, SaaS, and ARR trends, translating insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Support M&A and partnership strategy in software and digital domains, identifying targets and capabilities that accelerate ARR growth and platform expansion.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across strategy, product, finance, and commercial teams to enable successful execution of software and recurring revenue initiatives.
- Track performance against ARR growth objectives and key strategic initiatives, ensuring accountability, execution discipline, and continuous optimization.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, consulting, corporate strategy, or related roles
- Proven track record of developing, driving, and executing successful strategic plans in a software and ARR-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and work effectively in cross-functional, matrixed teams
