What you'd actually do

  1. Designs, modifies, and evaluates electronic components, or circuitry for use in equipment and devices.
  2. Perform circuit simulation and design verification test.
  3. Leads root cause investigations by collaborating across engineering departments, customer, and other groups to resolve problems.
  4. Test and troubleshoot electronic circuitry, including hands-on support of design verification and lab testing for circuit card assemblies.
  5. Create RTCA DO-160 test procedures for development and qualification testing

Skills

Required

  • STEM degree with minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience with electrical engineering, electrical design concepts, and/or electronics trouble shooting
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)

Nice to have

  • Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions
  • Experience with Unit and Module Requirements creation using Doors and/or SysML modelling tools such as Cameo
  • Experience with cadence design suite and or Mentor Graphics for schematic capture
  • Experience with mixed Signal Design - Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal CCAs, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems.
  • Experience with digital design: MUXs, gates, buffers, registers, ram memory, flash memory
  • Experience with simulation tools: PSpice, MATLAB, Mathcad, etc
  • The ability to analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components
