Sr. Electrical System Test Engineer

This role focuses on the testing and integration of low voltage electrical systems for electric vehicles. The Sr. Electrical System Test Engineer will develop test plans, analyze data, support system integration, and build out the electrical test lab, ensuring electrical design requirements are met.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for low voltage power electronics to both validate the system-level performance of electrical architecture, and stress the system to reveal any design weaknesses.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish robust testing strategies and align specific pass/fail criteria.
  3. Review and analyze test data, engaging the appropriate engineering teams when anomalous results are observed.
  4. Support systems integration efforts to bring up and debug various electrical test assets such as bucks, labcars, and prototype vehicles.
  5. Build and grow the electrical test lab, ensuring accurate data from all relevant test cases can be captured, analyzed, and distributed accordingly.

Skills

Required

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Strong Electrical and Systems Engineering fundamentals
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical testing from concept through development
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DAQs, DMMs, function generators, power supplies, electronic loads etc.)
  • Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, software/hardware tool development, functional safety, network and diagnostics process
