This role is responsible for developing and executing the energy strategy for AWS data centers, managing complex power infrastructure projects, and collaborating with utilities and internal teams to ensure reliable and cost-effective energy supply. The role involves strategic planning, project management, stakeholder management, and financial oversight within the energy sector.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers for new and Machine learning regions
  2. Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure, including negotiations and contracting.
  3. Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects (utility grid connections, high voltage substations, energy storage, etc) to reduce long term energy costs. Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
  4. Work collaboratively with Amazon CFE/RE team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
  5. Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid (through utilities), reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon
