Senior Backend/Cloud Engineer for CrowdStrike's Policy Management team, responsible for cloud-side software and user interfaces that manage and distribute configuration information to millions of Falcon endpoint agents. The role involves building scalable, reliable systems primarily in Go and Python, collaborating across teams, and ensuring high-quality code through best practices. Experience with distributed systems, cloud services (AWS/Azure), and containerization is required. Prior cybersecurity experience is not mandatory but a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and evolve cloud-based systems to flawlessly manage and distribute configuration information to a fleet of millions of endpoints, collaborating with other cloud, front-end, and endpoint developers.
  2. Brainstorm, design, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams.
  3. Build elegant and performant solutions for complex technical problems in Go.
  4. Read and critique code in the multiple programming languages in use in our environment (including Go, Python, Unix shell, Typescript, C++, among others), and provide technical guidance and feedback to team members.
  5. Focus on continual learning, raising the bar for both yourself and your teammates.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience building and scaling back-end systems in production
  • Team player skills
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges
  • Experience with Golang, Python, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, Elastic Search, and/or similar technologies
  • Prior experience with cloud services, such as AWS or Azure, particularly compute and storage offerings
  • Experience developing and deploying into Linux containers
  • Ability to travel (primarily to the United States) 1-3x per year

Nice to have

  • Prior experience managing configuration automation for large endpoint fleets
  • Prior experience with building, operating, and scaling low-latency internet services
  • Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence
