Sr Engineer, Systems Architecture – Openshift Virtualization

This role focuses on developing and evolving enterprise virtualization and platform architectures, specifically involving OpenShift Virtualization, Kubernetes, and VMware environments. The engineer will create schematics, design platforms, and implement processes, using performance data and test results to guide decisions. Success is measured by architecture effectiveness, documentation quality, and influence on standards.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design and delivery of complex virtualization and platform architecture strategies to enhance technology infrastructure
  2. Develop and maintain technical documentation to clearly communicate platform designs, Kubernetes-based virtualization concepts, and operational standards
  3. Evaluate and interpret platform metrics, testing outcomes, and workload performance to inform architecture improvements and technology adoption
  4. Collaborate with technical teams to develop and implement engineering solutions across OpenShift, Kubernetes, and VMware platforms that meet business requirements
  5. Contribute to the design and operationalization of OpenShift Virtualization, including VM lifecycle management and platform integration (compute, storage, networking)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience
  • Computer Science or Engineering or related field
  • 5+ Years Technical engineering experience
  • Able to communicate goals in support of the business' mission
  • Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
  • Ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team
  • Clear business and technical writing skills
