Sr. Engineer - Test/validation

This role focuses on enhancing development processes, tooling, and machinery for product quality and manufacturing readiness in an industrial setting. It involves recommending and implementing new technologies like automation and robotics, planning testing procedures, monitoring machine capabilities, and providing technical solutions. The role also includes leading SFMEA, PFMEA, and RCCA processes, providing manufacturing technical support, and collaborating with various teams to address concerns and drive operational improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Enhance development processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize product quality and ensure manufacturing readiness.
  2. Recommend and implement new technologies, including automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing software, to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  3. Plan and refine testing procedures to ensure reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Monitor machine and process capabilities, addressing performance reliability and excessive maintenance needs.
  5. Process large quantities of information accurately and productively, utilizing cross-checking mechanisms and quality assurance tools to meet or exceed accuracy goals.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Metallurgy, Material Science, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in gear manufacturing, heat treatment operations or related occupation
  • Heat Treat Engineering or Heat Treat Operations
  • Data analysis tools including Excel, and Minitab
  • Manufacturing engineering and Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, Lean manufacturing & Built In Quality
  • Carburizing heat treat and dimensional control of powertrain and transmission gears
  • Metallurgical evaluation of materials including: hardness, microstructure, residual stress, and distortion
