Sr. Field Service Technician

This role is for a Sr. Field Service Technician responsible for customer experience, vehicle diagnostics, and repairs at Rivian service locations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, customer service skills, and experience in automotive repair and continuous improvement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Follow Rivian repair procedures with efficiency without compromising quality and safety
  2. Perform diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles
  3. Leverages strong understanding of schematics and diagrams to diagnose and resolve repair issues accurately and appropriately
  4. Perform vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service center
  5. Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality of the repair

Skills

Required

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Extensive experience in HV diagnostic work
  • Understand HVIL and high voltage architecture
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to root-cause problems and find or suggest solutions
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement Process
  • Extensive experience in bumper-to-bumper diagnosis and repair
  • Valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform duties and communicate with a high level of professionalism
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents

Nice to have

  • Graduated from an accredited automotive repair school or equivalent vocation program
  • 10 or more years’ experience working on vehicle high voltage systems
  • 3 years’ experience as a shop foreman, team lead, shop supervisor or trainer
  • Experience using test tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator, breakout box etc.)
  • Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer
  • Parts department and billing experience
  • Experience using a work order management system including repair documentation
  • Experience working in start-up environments
