This role is for a Sr. Global Commodity Manager focused on Compute & Vision components within Amazon Robotics. The primary responsibility is managing global suppliers for electronic components, including CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, SoCs, SoMs, and camera/optics. Key tasks involve supplier relationship management, negotiation, contract development, sourcing strategy, cost reduction, and ensuring suppliers meet technical and commercial specifications to support new product introduction and long-term commodity strategy for robotics hardware.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, and cost and quality improvements.
  2. Collaborating with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements to ensure that sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
  3. Developing efficient and accurate mechanisms for communicating forecast and capacity requirements for sustaining and new products.
  4. Supporting the purchasing and planning teams by monitoring supplier performance and addressing supply and/or quality issues.
  5. Aligning supplier strategies to Robotics objectives for sustaining production and new product release.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, information technology or equivalent
  • 7+ years of supply chain experience
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or experience in design review process to incorporate electrical, mechanical, automation controls solutions to drive equipment reliability and standards
  • Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
  • Experience in supplier relationship management (e.g. SLAs management, performance/scorecarding)

Nice to have

  • Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
