Senior Software Engineer - Growth role focused on scaling product-led, self-serve experiences across the customer lifecycle to drive revenue growth. This role involves full-stack development (Python, JavaScript/Vue, AWS), partnering with go-to-market teams, and leveraging data to identify and execute growth initiatives. The focus is on engineering strategic impact across the customer journey and go-to-market lifecycle.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build customer-facing self-serve products from the ground up using a combination of custom frontends, Cloud applications, backend services, and scripts, etc.
  2. Collaborate with product, design, marketing, sales operations, finance and other GTM teams to implement growth initiatives.
  3. Leverage data to understand our customers and our funnel in depth, identify areas of opportunity and execute projects to drive revenue, customer growth, retention, and/or engagement.
  4. Drive engineering discussions and write thoughtful documentation and unit tests.
  5. Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Skills

Required

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in full-stack or growth-focused environments.
  • Proficiency in front end development
  • Proficiency in Python (Flask or similar frameworks) and JavaScript (ideally Vue.js or comparable frontend frameworks).
  • Experience working with AWS or other cloud infrastructure platforms for deployment and scalability.
  • Strong understanding of web architecture, performance optimization, and security best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, test, and deploy production-quality systems end-to-end.
  • Experience using data and analytics to identify opportunities, measure impact, and iterate on solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and product teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Excellent debugging, technical communication, and problem-solving skills.
