This role is for a Sr. HSE Engineer at Honeywell, responsible for implementing and maintaining the HSE Management System to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices in R&D and manufacturing environments. The engineer will provide expert advice, conduct risk assessments, develop HSE strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, establish quality control standards, develop training, lead audits, track metrics, and manage chemical inventories.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversight of the HSE Management System to ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  2. Provide expert advice and assistance to management and employees on work health and safety strategies, programs, systems, policies, standards, and processes
  3. Conduct site-level risk assessments and collaborate with location teams to execute necessary actions and improvements
  4. Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the organization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility
  5. Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.

Skills

Required

  • Experience in HSE within manufacturing, research and development, and/or field related businesses
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safey, Environmental Science, or a related field or qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene or other appropriate qualification related to HSE.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices
  • Proficiency in HSE Management Systems
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities
  • Strong people skills, time management and personnel training programs
  • Experience undertaking audits and inspections
  • Proficient in general computer software use – word, excel, PowerPoint

Nice to have

  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification
  • Experience with ISO Certifications
