Sr. Industrial Engineer

RTX RTX · Aerospace · chesapeake, VA +1 · Engineering

This role focuses on optimizing factory operations through industrial engineering principles like Lean Manufacturing, capacity planning, line balancing, and process mapping. It involves analyzing manufacturing systems, improving efficiency, and managing projects related to factory layout and automation. The role requires a STEM degree and significant experience in industrial engineering, with a strong emphasis on capacity analysis, CAD for layouts, and lean manufacturing best practices. A security clearance is also mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Apply advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to develop and optimize our factory throughput, efficiency, and value.
  2. Industrial Engineers are involved in Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layout, Line Balancing, Simulation and Process Modeling, Labor Performance Analysis, Process Mapping, and Project Management.
  3. Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
  4. Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
  5. Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
