Senior Legal Counsel for Databricks' international public sector business, focusing on government transactions, procurement, data protection, and regulatory compliance in the cloud and AI space.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the negotiation and drafting of customer agreements and other transactions with government and public sector institutions across EMEA and international markets, including RFP responses, Statements of Work, Order Forms, and reseller arrangements.
  2. Advise on procurement rules and regulations impacting public sector sales, including EU Directives and other international procurement frameworks.
  3. Guide compliance with international data privacy and cybersecurity regulations and standards relevant to government and public sector cloud services.
  4. Coordinate with our policy and compliance teams to monitor and assess changes in international laws and policies affecting cloud and AI adoption in the public sector, advising internal teams on risks and opportunities.
  5. Partner with sales, compliance, security, engineering, and policy teams to enable successful market entry and execution across international jurisdictions.

Skills

Required

  • Law degree and qualified to practice in at least one jurisdiction in EU.
  • 10+ years of legal experience with a focus on public sector transactions and government contracting across international markets.
  • Deep understanding of global public procurement rules, international contracting practices, data privacy, and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Strong ability to work cross‑functionally and navigate complex legal and regulatory environments.
  • Fluent in English, French, and Italian (spoken and written)

Nice to have

  • Experience transacting in Arabic is highly preferred
