This role is for a Sr. Manager, Commercial and AI Contracting for Johnson & Johnson's Polyphonic digital platform. The position focuses on architecting the global commercial and legal contracting framework for AI-driven innovation and surgical data. Responsibilities include leading the deal lifecycle for technology transactions, negotiating complex agreements involving AI/ML, privacy, data rights, and intellectual property, and ensuring compliance with global regulations. The role requires a JD and significant experience in SaaS, AI/ML, and digital health contracting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leading the end-to-end deal lifecycle for complex technology transactions, and commercial contracts from strategic negotiation to final contract execution for Polyphonic™ solutions, including our connected device solutions and our enterprise solutions, as well as our emerging Polyphonic™ Studio and Polyphonic™ Store.
  2. Serving as the commercial subject matter expert on key strategic contractual issues, including privacy, data rights, intellectual property, AI development, and data flows. As this is a global role, it will involve coordinating with country-level SMEs cross-functionally to ensure locally appropriate contracts.
  3. Drafting and negotiating a high volume of customer facing agreements, including SaaS, AI/ML, connected MedTech devices and digital solutions licensing contracts.
  4. Developing a deep partnership with the lead global attorney to translate Polyphonic’s global legal strategy into actionable commercial terms and scalable contracting processes.
  5. Ensuring all contracting activities align with global regulations, including anti-bribery, transparency laws, and healthcare compliance (HCC).

Skills

Required

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in structuring, negotiating, and drafting complex commercial and technology agreements
  • Deep expertise in the commercial and contracting landscape of SaaS in healthcare, AI/ML products, and digital platforms
  • Strong understanding of the key legal and business issues in digital health, including intellectual property, data privacy (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), cybersecurity, anti-kickback statutes, and data rights
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance business objectives with legal commercial risk and navigate ambiguity in a rapidly evolving industry
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems
  • Experience working in a global role with perspectives on international applications of contract management
