This role leads the GTM Finance team's commission planning, forecasting, and reporting/analytics, and comp plan design strategy. It involves partnering with Sales Compensation Strategy, Sales Strategy, Accounting, and GTM Finance business partners to ensure alignment with business objectives, build financial models, and provide insights on commission attainment relative to business performance. The role requires expertise in financial modeling, sales compensation design, SQL, and commissions-related accounting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work in partnership with the Sales Compensation Strategy team on the annual comp plan design workstream to ensure the comp plan design is aligned to the desired business objectives
  2. Own the cost model for the annual comp plan design workstream. Partner with the Sales Compensation Strategy team to design quota guardrails, accelerator rates, and overassign quotas to align desired commission payouts and attainment to top-line performance
  3. Build and maintain the bottom-up commissions forecast, leveraging actuals and forecasted top-line performance to forecast variance to budget and provide insights to business partners on comp plan attainment relative to business performance
  4. Run the monthly commissions accrual process, providing accrual inputs to Accounting and communication of key variance drivers to Finance leadership
  5. Own ad hoc analysis, including making recommendations for mid-year investments and comp plan design modifications

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive GTM, GTM Finance, or related experience Finance experience at a high-growth enterprise SaaS or Consumption business
  • Expert at building robust financial models in both Excel and Gsheets
  • Experience with sales compensation design & associated financial modeling
  • Proficient with SQL to leverage top-line forecasts for bottoms-up model
  • Advanced understanding of commissions-related accounting, including capitalization, amortization, and cash flow impacts
  • Skilled storyteller to distill complex topics into executive-level presentations
