This role is for a Senior Manager of Property Tax at Target. The primary responsibilities include leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of the company's real and personal property tax function. This involves oversight of compliance, valuation, appeals, planning, and financial reporting across a multi-state portfolio. The role also focuses on optimizing property tax expense, partnering with various internal and external stakeholders, driving process standardization, leveraging technology and analytics, and ensuring SOX compliance. The manager will also lead and mentor team members and manage third-party relationships.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s real and personal property tax function.
  2. Oversee compliance, valuation, appeals, planning, and financial reporting across a multi-state portfolio.
  3. Optimize property tax expense through proactive assessment review, data-driven appeal strategies, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Partner closely with Real Estate, Finance, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors to influence property tax outcomes and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
  5. Drive process standardization, leverage technology and analytics to enhance decision-making, and ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance over property tax processes.
