This role is for a Sr. Manager of Warehouse & Distribution at Johnson & Johnson (DePuy Synthes) supporting the orthopedic portfolio. The position requires leadership in safe, compliant, and efficient distribution of medical devices, driving continuous improvement in service, cost, quality, and delivery. Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end warehouse operations, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, GDP/GMP), developing operational strategies, partnering with other departments, leading teams, owning performance management, overseeing 3PL relationships, and managing budgets. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 8-12 years of experience in logistics/distribution with people leadership, and demonstrated experience in a regulated environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end‑to‑end warehouse and distribution operations, including inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound shipment of medical devices.
  2. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, GDP/GMP, internal quality systems).
  3. Develop and execute operational strategies to improve service levels, inventory accuracy, productivity, and cost performance.
  4. Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service, and Commercial teams to align distribution capabilities with business demand.
  5. Lead, coach, and develop warehouse management and hourly teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations, including people leadership
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing)
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and distribution best practices
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams and drive performance through change and continuous improvement
  • Experience managing operational metrics, budgets, and productivity targets
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Master's degree (MBA or MS) in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Administration
  • Experience supporting global or regional distribution networks
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodology experience
  • Experience leading or partnering with third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP) and advanced analytics tools
  • Lean, Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM certifications
