This role provides advanced technical support and expertise for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other factory digital systems within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, leading small projects, mentoring junior engineers, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring system stability and optimization. The role requires experience with MES administration, database technologies, operating systems, ITIL framework, and networking concepts.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide expert-level support to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues affecting MES and other factory digital systems (software, hardware, integrations).
  2. Proactively identify opportunities for system optimization and process improvements within Manufacturing IT/MES applications, driving initiatives that improve overall plant operations.
  3. Analyze complex system problems, identify root causes, and implement effective mitigations (log analysis, diagnostics, scripting).
  4. Act as the escalation point for complex MES-related incidents, ensuring fast resolution to minimize downtime.
  5. Conduct cross-functional root cause analysis (RCA) of significant incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, IT)
  • Significant (5+ years) experience supporting and administering MES and other factory digital systems
  • Rockwell FTPC Administration
  • Administration of MES-adjacent integrated factory-critical digital systems such as Kepware, FTLinx, Eventsheets, FTD
  • Proficiency in database technologies (SQL) and operating systems
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Understanding of ITIL framework
  • Incident response fundamentals and tooling
  • Networking concepts and industrial communication protocols
  • Project management and leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of relevant industry regulations and validation processes
  • Experience with virtualization technologies
