Sr Mgr Outbound Freight Capability

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Manager for Outbound Freight Capability in Zug, Switzerland. This role will define and enable the end-to-end outbound freight capability, including process standards, functional requirements, and integration points across Order-to-Cash, warehouse operations, and transportation execution, supporting a future-state, asset-light operating model. Responsibilities include defining shipment execution, carrier connectivity, labeling, manifesting, freight visibility, establishing global process standards, defining business requirements for systems, and collaborating with IT, 3PL partners, and regional teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define the end-to-end outbound freight capability, including shipment execution, carrier connectivity, labeling, manifesting, and freight visibility across J&J and 3PL-operated sites
  2. Establish global process standards and policies for outbound freight execution, ensuring alignment across regions, site types, and operating models
  3. Define business requirements and capability needs for outbound freight, ensuring alignment with Order-to-Cash processes and upstream/downstream dependencies
  4. Partner with Systems Strategy and IT teams to translate business requirements into system capabilities (e.g., transport execution tools, carrier integration, labeling solutions)
  5. Define deployment frameworks and playbooks to support consistent rollout of outbound freight capabilities across sites and regions

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, with strong exposure to outbound freight execution
  • Deep understanding of transport execution processes, including carrier connectivity, labeling, parcel and freight management, and shipment visibility
  • Experience defining or implementing transportation capabilities, systems, or process frameworks in complex, multi-site environments
  • Experience working within or alongside 3PL-operated logistics environments, with understanding of partner capabilities and operating models
  • Strong understanding of integration points between transportation, warehouse operations, and Order-to-Cash processes
  • Experience collaborating with IT and Systems teams to translate business requirements into technology solutions
  • Ability to work in a global, matrix organization: strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions and regions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • A Master's degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
