This role is for a Senior Network Engineer focused on Route & Switch technologies within Deloitte's Technology & Infrastructure team. The responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, collaborating with vendors, performing performance testing, and documenting network configurations. The role requires experience with Cisco networking equipment and troubleshooting skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide technical services in the areas of computer hardware and software.
  2. Administers, configures, monitors and tests application servers for business and network operations.
  3. Provides suggestions and recommendations for new technology solutions.
  4. Work with senior level engineers to implement applications and technology solutions.
  5. Monitor daily data and application server backups, upgrades, and patches.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience supporting IT Infrastructure Network environments and/or 6 years with advanced degree.
  • Design and implement network infrastructure: Plan, configure, and deploy Cisco networking equipment (switches, routers, wireless access points).
  • Structured cabling oversight: Collaborate with contractors and low-voltage vendors to ensure proper installation of network cabling, including patch panels and IDFs/MDF setup.
  • Network performance testing & validation: Ability to conduct site surveys and end-to-end testing to validate throughput, redundancy, and failover capabilities across all floors and workspaces.
  • Documentation, including but not limited to network diagrams and rack elevation drawings: Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, IP address allocations, and equipment inventory.
  • 2+ years and proficiency with Troubleshooting skills

  • Collaboration with other IT teams: Work closely with systems, security, facilities and other operations teams to ensure seamless integration of their technology needs with existing infrastructure components.
