This role is for an Optics Operator I at Johnson & Johnson's MedTech/Vision division in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. The primary responsibilities involve supporting manufacturing assembly operations, including setting up, operating, and troubleshooting machinery, monitoring product assembly, and maintaining production records. The role requires experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, proficiency in inventory and computer systems, and flexibility in work schedule and cross-training. It is not directly related to AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Completes tasks for the support function of the Manufacturing Assembly area under general supervision, and follows routine administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
  2. Assists with set up, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery/equipment.
  3. Helps monitor and install components of basic in-process products, assemblies, or sub-assemblies on the assembly line.
  4. Builds competency with routine machinery.
  5. Ensures precision of daily assembly production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis.

Skills

Required

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Parenteral Manufacturing/Operations
  • Associate's, Vocational, Technical/Trade, or equivalent degree/certificate
  • Proficiency in inventory control systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent)
  • Intermediate/general skills in computer systems such as process control systems, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), eBR, and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Aseptic Techniques or related certification
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish (oral and written)
  • Ability and flexibility to work during 2nd and 3rd shift operational hours (12-hour shifts, ranging between 4:00PM to 4:30AM), and to provide support on other/irregular shifts, weekends, extended hours, and holidays.
  • Willingness and flexibility to be cross-trained and work in various functional areas (e.g., Packaging, Formulation, etc.)
  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, and/or 12 hours shifts, including weekends and holidays

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's/University degree or focused degree/certificate preferred in Industrial Mechanics, Biology, Microbiology, or related technical field(s)
