This role is for a Sr. Operations and Strategy Manager for Uber's Marketplace in the South Cone region. The primary focus is on strategic oversight, KPI tracking, performance analysis, and designing initiatives to maintain a healthy marketplace ecosystem. The role also involves acting as a regional subject matter expert for technical integration, vetting and executing experimental features, and bridging local needs with global innovations. Key responsibilities include strategic ownership, business sense, problem-solving, process optimization, and product improvement, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and execution in a fast-paced environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Proactively identify business needs and issues. Prioritize among projects to define the best path to meet strategic objectives and complete it. Deliver valuable information to teams with strategic proposals to achieve operational efficiency.
  2. Translate insights from operational and financial metrics into strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business. Understand the industry and act effectively in order to anticipate potential changes
  3. Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend the best approach. Develop innovative "thinking outside the box" solutions to deliver essential decision-making information to leadership teams
  4. Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across our region.
  5. Propose features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measuring their impact and prioritizing them, in order to advocate for their development.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture
  • Spanish and English proficiency. Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner
  • Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreement
  • Ability to optimally manage and prioritize complex operations that require the support of peers and other teams, and deliver results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards
  • Ability to plan complex or multi-faceted projects with cross-functional teams, defining timelines, deliverables, interdependencies, and resource allocation
  • Able to assess trade-offs across demand, supply, and economics; anticipate downstream marketplace impacts; and prioritize actions that protect both service quality and P&L performance.
  • Comfortable making calibrated decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and driving pricing or marketplace levers forward with incomplete data when needed.
