Sr. Operations Leader, Project Controls

This role is for a Sr. Operations Leader to partner with a VP, driving organizational priorities, operating cadence, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional execution. The candidate should be proactive, execution-oriented, comfortable with senior leaders, and able to turn ambiguity into action. Experience in data centers, construction, or infrastructure delivery is not required; backgrounds in management consulting, strategy, operations, program management, or corporate transformation are encouraged. Key responsibilities include strategic execution, leadership team effectiveness, executive communications, program management, and business operations/analytics. Required qualifications include 6+ years of experience in relevant fields, strong executive communication and presentation skills, and experience managing complex initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a trusted partner to the VP in driving execution across key business priorities.
  2. Translate executive objectives into clear workstreams, milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes.
  3. Establish and manage operating rhythms, including leadership meetings, business reviews, weekly staff meetings, and executive updates.
  4. Track progress against commitments and ensure follow-through from directors and cross-functional leaders.
  5. Identify gaps, risks, delays, and misalignments early, and escalate with recommendations.

Skills

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, strategy, program management, corporate transformation, or a similar high-performance environment.
  • Experience working directly with senior executives or leadership teams.
  • Exceptional PowerPoint skills, including executive-level storytelling, slide design, and business presentation development.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, modeling, trackers, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or comparable project/program management tools.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined in follow-through.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where none exists.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and drive accountability among senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a major consulting firm, such as McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, EY, KPMG, or a similar strategy/operations consulting environment.
  • Prior Chief of Staff, business operations, strategy, transformation, or executive program management experience.
  • Experience supporting a VP, SVP, GM, or equivalent senior leader.
  • Familiarity with large-scale enterprise technology, cloud, infrastructure, operations, or complex delivery environments.
  • Experience building executive-level dashboards, scorecards, business reviews, or operating mechanisms.
