Sr. Payroll Analyst

This role is for a Sr. Payroll Analyst at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on HR or Finance operations for the Americas region. Responsibilities include ensuring payroll data accuracy, processing payments, performing checks and reconciliations, supporting project phases, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. The role requires strong knowledge of US payroll processing, research and problem-solving skills, and experience with compliance requirements like SOX.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure payroll-related data from Company internal applications interfaces into the payroll system before payroll deadline.
  2. Support process of accounting, payments, Time & Attendance, Long Term incentives, as part of Payroll.
  3. Perform checks, controls, variance analysis and reconciliations during pre-payroll processing and before payroll is finalized.
  4. Serve as a Payroll support for the different phases of the project like testing, data management, process documentation etc.
  5. Supports multi-country payroll to have an effective operational model in compliance with company policies as well as statutory and legal requirements.

Skills

Required

  • A minimum of 4 years of prior experience in Payroll or HR operation is required. (Americas Region)
  • Strong Knowledge of payroll US processing (processes, regulations, vendor landscape, etc.).
  • Strong English language verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Research and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to execute tactically, quickly adapt to situations, and address day-to-day operational challenges with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Knowledge Management artifacts such as Desktop Procedures (DTPs) and proficiency with Compliance requirements (SOX and Business Controls) is required.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience leading a team as an SME or team lead and demonstrable ability to motivate and manage a team is preferred.
  • Payroll certification is preferred (e.g. CPP, FPC)
  • Cultural awareness and an ability to work with a multitude of people across multiple markets assigned.
  • Prior experience with deployment or implementation projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with the Leading Third-Party Payroll Providers (ADP, NGA, SDWorx, etc.
  • Prior experience in a multi-national company, and/or experience in Finance/HR Shared Services preferred.
  • Prior experience in e-Time, Kronos, Salesforce Service Cloud, SAP, Workday is preferred.
