This role is for a Sr. Principal Engineer (Level 4) at Northrop Grumman, focusing on integration and test engineering for launch vehicles. What you'd actually do

  1. Establish Space Systems system tools to be used for program execution
  2. Leading/directing/performing hands-on mechanical integration and/or electrical testing at a systems level
  3. Developing/maintaining procedures for the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems
  4. Developing concept of operations for assembly and testing of vehicles
  5. Incorporating hardware and/or software design changes

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of relevant experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Hands-on mechanical integration, electrical testing and diagnostic experience
  • Experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience leading/training other engineers and/or team members

Nice to have

  • BS in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with MES, or other digital work instruction platform
  • Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems
  • Experience with external customer interfacing including meetings, presentations & negotiations
  • Two or more launch campaign experiences, preferably on multiple programs
