Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Huntsville, AL. The role involves providing systems engineering expertise for the design, integration, and testing of enterprise-level cybersecurity systems, evaluating designs against DoD and industry standards, and using model-based engineering tools. Requires a Secret clearance and experience with MBSE, SysML, UML, DOORS, and CAMEO.

What you'd actually do

  1. The candidate will develop and maintain design review procedures, tools for tracking progress and action items against major milestones, incorporate lessons learned, and facilitate design reviews.
  2. Perform decomposition of requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation
  3. Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of an enterprise level cybersecurity system.
  4. Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, risk, supportability, and analysis for enterprise level cybersecurity systems.
  5. Evaluate the design based on the Department of Defense and industry standards.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (or equivalent experience)
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Current Security+ or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • DoD 8570 / AFMAN 17-1303 qualification at IASAE 2 level
  • 2+ years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with SysML and UML
  • Experience utilizing tools such as IBM DOORS© and No Magic© CAMEO
  • Experience developing system architectures
  • Experience implementing MBSE processes
  • Experience linking requirements to design elements
  • Experience with traceability matrices
  • Experience with change impact analysis
  • Experience with integrating Cyber Systems Engineering requirements with Program System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) initiatives

Nice to have

  • Current/active Top-Secret clearance
  • Direct experience developing RMF assessment and authorization artifacts in accordance with NIST SP 800-37
  • Experience modeling and analyzing cybersecurity threats using the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • DoDI 8570 certification for IASAE II/III (CISSP, ISSEP, ISSAP)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of MircoService architectures
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies
