Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead a team in developing Radar Processor Software. The role involves designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining software components for radar systems, applying model-based engineering and DevSecOps practices. Responsibilities include leading development, designing real-time radar data and signal processing, risk identification, defect tracking, test plan development, and conducting reviews. Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM, U.S. citizenship, an active Secret Clearance, and significant experience in C/C++, real-time embedded software, and the full software lifecycle.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a team in developing Radar Processor Software.
  2. Design, build and test real time radar data and signal processing and other modes.
  3. Identify risks, suggest mitigations, track defects, develop resolutions, and report status.
  4. Develop and execute unit tests and build verification test plans, and track and report test status.
  5. Conduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited institution with 8 years of related experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience, Ph.D. with 4 years of related experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain SAP Access.
  • Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and access for continued employment.
  • 5 years experience working in C/C++
  • 5 years experience with real-time embedded software
  • 5 years experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance required
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
