Sr. Principal - Engineer - Automation (small Molecule)

This role is for a Sr. Principal Engineer focused on Automation for Small Molecule API manufacturing at Eli Lilly. The primary responsibility is to lead the design, delivery, and qualification of the DeltaV platform and associated software integration teams for a new greenfield manufacturing facility. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, managing system integrators, and ensuring the automation systems meet GMP standards. Post-project delivery, the role will support ongoing manufacturing operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design and delivery of the DeltaV platform and associated software integration teams as part of Lilly’s manufacturing expansion.
  2. Lead one or more project workstreams for the automation DCS function including design, scheduling, staffing, and qualification in the Drug Substance (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) network.
  3. Collaborate with Lilly engineering, A&E firms, and system integrators to develop requirements and specifications that will be the foundation for software development and system architecture.
  4. Manage one or more system integrators for fully deliver and test DeltaV software.
  5. Collaborate with Tech@Lilly to deliver a fully integrated Automation/MES solution that is scaled for the needs of business.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related applicable discipline
  • 5+ years of experience Process Automation
  • Experience on the Emerson DeltaV Platform
  • Experience in API/Drug Substance manufacturing
