Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Environmental to manage air quality permitting and compliance, regulatory reporting, and sustainability initiatives. The role involves working with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, supporting audits, and developing compliance strategies. Requires a Bachelor's degree in environmental science with 9 years of experience or a Master's with 7 years, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform air quality program permitting and compliance activities.
  2. Complete Air Program and local regulatory agency compliance reporting.
  3. Refrigerant Management Program, Portable Equipment Registration Program (PERP), Truck and Bus, and Diesel Off-Road and Large Spark Ignition (LSI) requirements.
  4. Support audits and inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  5. Assist in planning for changes at the site, reviewing new or modified equipment and new manufacturing programs to meet regulatory and company requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of experience in environmental science or master’s degree and 7 years of related experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; mastering unfamiliar information, tasks and situations quickly and effectively
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Nice to have

  • Previous DoD, Military or Aerospace facilities experience
  • 2 or more years of experience working with regulatory agencies and submitting permit documentation
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification
