Sr Principal Engineer - Reliability & Maintainability (r&m)

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer to perform System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis. The role involves establishing, monitoring, and verifying R&M performance requirements, conducting R&M allocations and predictions, FMECA, BIT analysis, mission reliability analysis, and supporting issue investigations. Experience with FTA, FRACAS, maintainability demonstrations, HALT, RGT, and ESS is required. The engineer will collaborate with IPTs and suppliers, develop reliability engineering programs, and potentially create mathematical models for failure risk assessment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform R&M allocations and predictions.
  2. Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis.
  3. Perform Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis.
  4. Develop mission reliability analysis.
  5. Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline and 8 years of engineering experience; OR Master’s Degree in STEM and 6 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP).

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering Degree.
  • Active, In scope US Government Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
  • Experience with Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
  • Experience with maintainability demonstrations.
  • Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS).
