Sr Principal Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Melbourne, FL +1 · Systems/Architecture/Test

This role involves systems modeling and simulation for aircraft sustainment, focusing on cost analysis, readiness, obsolescence forecasting, and spares modeling. The engineer will interface with various departments and the customer to understand requirements and provide solutions. Skills in statistics, simulation modeling, trend analysis, and data sampling are required. A secret clearance is also necessary.

What you'd actually do

  1. support the E-2D Hawkeye Program designing readiness and cost improvement solutions for aircraft sustainment in a performance based environment.
  2. Modeling and Simulation Analysis will include: cost analysis (Development, Production, Operations & Support, and Business Case Analysis; Readiness (Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Improvement, Spares forecasting, Fleet Readiness Modeling); Obsolescence forecasting; Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); and spares modeling.
  3. interface with other functional departments, including Air Vehicle, Avionics, Systems Engineering, R&M, Diminishing Material Shortages (DMS) team, Support Hardware, Global Supply Chain and supplier design engineers, as well as interfacing with the US Navy customer to understand requirements, collect data and strategize/provide solutions.
  4. Candidate should possess skills in the areas of statistics, simulation modeling, trend & sensitivity analysis, data sampling, and computing.
  5. Obsolescence Analysis will include participation in development of processes and tools required to ensure DMS solutions are proactive and cost effective.
