Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Flight Test Systems Engineer to develop and publish integrated test plans, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing. The role involves providing laboratory support for integration testing, supporting test planning working groups, and interfacing with design and analysis teams to define test configurations and data requirements. The engineer will review test requirements, perform technical analysis of systems, and prepare system-level evaluations. Responsibilities include supporting test card development, readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings, as well as providing mission control room support and making real-time decisions. The position also requires conducting pre and post-test data analyses for anomaly identification and resolution, maintaining testing metrics, and serving as a focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and the test site team. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential. The role requires working under general direction, independently or within a team, and being self-motivated and detailed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IADS is required. Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work may be required.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience , OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Active US Government Secret clearance
  • Background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • In depth knowledge of or test experience, to include control room monitoring
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS)

Nice to have

  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills
  • Experience in software/system integration, and software/system testing
  • Familiarization with Confluence and JIRA
  • Experience with test, test equipment use and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge or experience with control room monitoring
  • Knowledge or experience with systems test and integration
  • Knowledge of creating, updating and executing test procedures
  • Able to work both within a team environment and independently; must be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed; and must be willing to learn additional engineering discipline areas.
  • FAA rated pilot (private/commercial), or other experience as a crewmember.
