Sr. Principal - Industrial Hygienist

This role is for a Sr. Principal Industrial Hygienist at Eli Lilly, focusing on health, safety, and environmental programs within a new advanced manufacturing facility for monoclonal antibodies and bioconjugates. The position involves providing technical expertise in industrial hygiene, developing and implementing programs, conducting workplace assessments for chemical, physical, and biological hazards, and ensuring compliance with regulations in a cGMP manufacturing environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Participate in project design meetings, support risk assessment and industrial hygiene/exposure control decisions.
  2. Responsible for developing and implementing written programs and applicable trainings.
  3. Develop and support the industrial hygiene implementation strategy working directly with the areas for implementation, troubleshooting, and auditing compliance.
  4. Participate in the development of the HSE operational readiness plan for the Lilly Richmond API facility as a collaborative, inclusive, and energetic member of the HSE team.
  5. Be a technical resource for assigned programs (e.g., hazard communication, exposure assessment, biological safety, personal protective equipment, etc.).

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field
  • 3+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience within cGMP manufacturing
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing

Nice to have

  • Experience in antibody drug conjugate manufacturing (drug substance and drug product).
  • Demonstrated skills in technical expertise and self-motivation.
