Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Mixed Signal Electronics Engineer for tactical missile system development and production programs. The role involves designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit card assemblies, conducting system-level testing, mentoring junior engineers, and overseeing the transition from prototype to production. Requires a BS/MS in engineering with significant experience in mixed-signal CCA design, FPGA/SoC design, and V&V methodologies, along with an active Secret Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and implement power budget analyses, electrical schematics, and safety-critical system grounding schemes
  2. Conduct system-level testing and troubleshoot issues to ensure design reliability and maintainability
  3. Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design and development processes
  4. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, design reviews, and test plans throughout the product lifecycle
  5. Oversee the transition from prototype development to production, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD and industry best practices

Skills

Required

  • BS degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical/Electronic preferred) with 8 years of experience, or MS with 6 years
  • Mixed signal CCA product design, development, and system level integration
  • Power budget analysis, electrical schematics, safety-critical system and grounding scheme development
  • Digital circuit design with large scale FPGA/SoCs and high-speed interfaces
  • Verification and validation (V&V) testing
  • System-level testing
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Active Secret Clearance
