Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations by developing, optimizing, and sustaining production processes. This role involves leading root cause investigations, implementing process improvements, authoring work instructions, and supporting the design and deployment of manufacturing tooling and equipment. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes
  2. Being the first line of support (primary point of contact) for operations personnel and any process related problems.
  3. Performing cause and corrective action investigations to permanently eliminate defects using root cause analysis tools
  4. Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
  5. Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning (work instructions)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software
  • Experience working with composite materials
  • Strong interpersonal and Customer Service Skills

Nice to have

  • CAD skills preferred
  • Statistical Process Controls (SPC)
  • Experience with NX and modeling

  • Experience with rigging, bridge, and mobile cranes
