As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Bank Technology team, you provide deep engineering expertise and work across agile teams to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job responsibilities
- Advises and leads on the strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio
- Creates novel code solutions and drives the development of new production code capabilities across teams and functions
- Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm’s innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about technology advancements
- Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions
- Influences across business, product, and technology teams and successfully manages senior stakeholder relationships
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Demonstrated prior experience with influencing across functions and teams and delivering value at scale
Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems across various technical disciplines
Extensive practical cloud native experience
Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Deep expertise in building and operating large scale, high performance, business critical applications (full stack) with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
Deep expertise with enterprise design patterns and industry best practices with experience using modern technologies and design patterns (e.g., micro services, APIs, Agentic, etc.)
Deep expertise with Agentic AI
Experience with mentoring technology teams and next level leaders within the organization
Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment working with geographically distributed teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with financial, payments and/or digital banking systems
Preferred experience with specific cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) beyond the required expertise
Experience with AI/ML, LLM, Agentic AI and Generative AI is required
Advanced certifications or degrees in relevant fields that could enhance the candidate's ability to perform the role
Experience with implementing industry standard cybersecurity & technology controls
Strength in executive presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to present and communicate effectively with key stakeholders across product, technology, data and design
Strong organizational and management skills
