This role is for a Sr. Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer at Northrop Grumman. The primary responsibilities include on-site supplier surveillance, ensuring product quality, managing supplier quality risk, developing and implementing quality evaluation and control systems, and ensuring contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. The role involves interfacing with suppliers, conducting product and process verification, monitoring performance, driving root cause corrective actions, and managing supplier requests for waivers and deviations. The position requires experience with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. This position will require on-site major supplier surveillance and is a telecommuter position.
  2. In this position, the employee will be responsible for the quality of the products provided by the supplier.
  3. Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
  4. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
  5. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's in Science degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience; or a PhD with 4 years experience.
  • Experience developing, planning, and implementing quality methods and/or strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items.
  • Experience interfacing with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and/or management.
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government DoD security clearance

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements and lead auditor experience to these standards.
  • Extensive experience working with aerospace/defense industry suppliers onsite.
  • General experience with special processes

  • Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
