Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer (Tool Integrator) to design, develop, and maintain integrations across core development and requirements management platforms (JIRA, IBM DOORS, Cameo, Systems Modeler, GitLab, etc.). The role focuses on enabling traceability, automated data flow, and unified reporting across the toolchain, requiring experience with API development, automated scripting, and validation testing within a defense context. A Secret security clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analyze existing tool ecosystems and define integration requirements to support end-to-end system development
  2. Design and implement bidirectional connectors/APIs (REST, SOAP, JMS, etc.) for JIRA, DOORS, Cameo, GitLab, and related tools
  3. Develop automated scripts and workflows for data synchronization, change propagation, and traceability matrix generation
  4. Conduct validation testing, performance tuning, and continuous monitoring of integration pipelines
  5. Provide documentation, training, and support to engineering teams for integrated workflows

Skills

Required

  • STEM degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of experience (or Master's with 6, PhD with 4)
  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance
  • Experience with JIRA, IBM DOORS, Cameo, GitLab, or similar tools
  • API development (REST, SOAP, JMS)
  • Automated scripting and workflow development
  • Systems engineering principles
