Sr. Principal Technical Program Manager (hybrid - Seattle, Wa)

Nordstrom Nordstrom · Retail · Seattle, WA

Lead Nordstrom’s enterprise initiative on AI-native developer productivity, defining and building the strategy, tooling, training, and measurement infrastructure to transform how technical organizations build, operate, and ship software. This role involves hands-on research, prototyping, driving adoption, and rigorous impact measurement with SVP/VP-level visibility.

What you'd actually do

  1. Continuously monitor and evaluate the frontier of AI-native developer tooling — including coding agents (e.g., Claude Code), context management strategies (e.g., MCP, RAG over codebases), agentic harnesses, and code generation workflows.
  2. Define and own the strategy for AI-native developer productivity at Nordstrom — spanning tooling, process redesign, skills development, and organizational enablement.
  3. Identify gaps in existing tooling, context infrastructure, or workflow integration that limit developer productivity; drive the build or adoption of capabilities to close those gaps.
  4. Design and develop training materials, playbooks, and self-service resources that equip engineers at all levels to adopt AI-native ways of working.
  5. Define the measurement framework for AI-native developer productivity — identifying the right leading and lagging indicators across velocity, quality, developer experience, and cost efficiency.
