Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Sr. Principal Trainer specializing in Advanced Composites and Aircraft Structures. The role involves designing and delivering training programs, developing tests, and keeping abreast of training methodologies. Requires extensive experience in composites fabrication, layup, and repair, with the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  2. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.
  3. Provide lecture and hands on instruction on complex vacuum bagging, wet lay-up, scarf repair, wedding cake repair, bracket bonding, Pi & Overwrap installation & removal, surface porosity the “Sand to Black” process, wet-layup, splintering repairs, and various other composite maintenance repairs
  4. Provide lectures and hands on instruction on Aircraft Structures processes & procedures.

Skills

Required

  • 15 years of composites fabrication, layup & repair experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required for clearance
  • Entry level blueprint and technical data comprehension
  • Shop math
  • Knowledgeable in the use of process specifications
  • Ability to interpret and teach complex composite instructions
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to travel to multiple Northrop Grumman locations
  • Ability to work All shifts

Nice to have

  • Current/active a U.S. Government Secret level clearance
