Sr. Process Engineer

Rivian Rivian · Auto · Normal, IL · Manufacturing

Senior Process Engineer at Rivian focused on optimizing manufacturing processes for drive unit production in a high-volume automotive environment. Responsibilities include coordinating engineering changes, developing process documentation, commissioning and optimizing assembly equipment, performing time analysis, and troubleshooting production issues. Requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering, statistical data analysis, and lean principles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordinate engineering changes and new program launches
  2. Determine the ‘Best Practice’ process approach of material, tooling, equipment, and labor process
  3. Work with design engineering team to develop and establish a design that lends itself to high volume production while ensuring quality during the manufacturing process
  4. Work with manufacturing engineering team to commission and optimize next generation drive unit/propulsion assembly equipment
  5. Perform time analysis using a standard motion time system (MODAPTS), estimate production times, manage staffing requirements, manage labor costs, and drive line balancing
