Sr. Process Engineer, Stamping

This role focuses on optimizing stamping processes in an automotive manufacturing environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams on equipment design, layout, problem-solving, and continuous improvement to meet production KPIs. It requires strong engineering skills in a stamping context and proficiency in data management and relevant manufacturing processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering group in equipment design, buyoff, and install for all new model launch activities.
  2. Assist manufacturing engineering group with cell layout, rack design, PFMEA development.
  3. Coach safety, quality, and production on standardized work development
  4. Lead continuous improvement activity and drive problem resolution with cross functional groups including production, quality, engineering, and maintenance.
  5. Optimize manufacturing processes to maximize productivity while reducing quality, productivity, and maintenance issues.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Stamping environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong process skills
  • comprehend a wide variety of manufacturing processes including RSW, GMAW, laser welding, SPR, mastic, and adhesives
  • Exceptional organization and data management skills
  • High level proficiency in excel and other Microsoft office programs
  • Experience with GD&T
  • APQP experience
  • 2D & 3D modeling experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to partner with cross functional teams
