Sr. Product Development Engineer

This role is for a Sr. Product Development Engineer at AMD, focusing on the development and testing of electrical/electronic components and systems for semiconductor products like GPUs, CPUs, and SoCs. The engineer will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from definition to end-of-life, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring compliance with design criteria and manufacturing capabilities. Key responsibilities include facilitating problem-solving across teams, participating in development reviews, and contributing to the DFM process. The role requires experience with CAD tools, product development cycles, physical design, CPU architecture, DFM Review, SMT, ECO Management, and PCBA Manufacturing.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products (GPUs, CPUs, and/or SoCs).
  2. Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life.
  3. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, and quality as the product(s) move to production and distribution.
  4. Review design prints and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria, industry standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
  5. Support new product introduction (NPI) by facilitating problem solving discussions across Design, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineering teams.
