This role is for a Sr. Quality Engineering Manager focused on ensuring the quality of consumer hardware products throughout their lifecycle, from design and manufacturing to customer service. The manager will establish quality goals, monitor performance, lead failure analysis, drive root cause and corrective actions, and implement lessons learned to prevent recurrence. The role involves working across various quality aspects including product design, manufacturing processes, and customer feedback, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish quality goals and monitor performance, investigate with the full suite of failure analysis tools, influencing root cause and subsequent closed loop corrective action.
  2. Lead quality lessons learned and institute remedies to prevent re-occurrence of quality issues while possessing a high sense of urgency when managing critical issues.
  3. Identify risks and working with the appropriate product development and sustaining engineering functions to ensure the critical and high risk items are resolved prior to shipping a product and moreover don’t make it into next generation product.
  4. Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the job, be able to deal with ambiguity, and influence at all levels of the company.
  5. Understand the technology and functionality of Consumer Hardware products, and be able to assess the risk to a negative customer experience, so that it can be prevented during development

  • Solid understanding and demonstrated success with practical applications of Lean / Six Sigma tools such as Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Measurement System Analysis, Analysis of Variance, Hypothesis Testing, Value Stream Mapping, Pareto Charts, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility, Cpk
  • Technical knowledge of conducting process audits and formulating plans to drive continual quality improvements within the factory operations

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Master's degree in business, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or related field
  • Understanding of technology, at the system and commodity level as well as software and usability
  • Design experience in different engineering aspect, such as EE, Mechanical, RF, IC, Display and etc.
  • Technical knowledge of conducting process audits and formulating plans to drive continual quality improvements within the factory operations
  • Must be self-motivated/self-directed, is able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously and flawlessly
  • Experience with AI and machine learning
