Sr. Service Lab Technician II

This role is for a Sr. Service Lab Technician II at Rivian, focusing on validating service procedures, conducting time studies, and validating tools and equipment for electric vehicles. The technician will collaborate with service engineering and technical publications teams to create factory service manuals and ensure accuracy in repair processes, labor times, and safety. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams on special projects and product improvements, requiring strong communication and professionalism.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support creation of technical publications for all service manuals (systems overview, parts, repair, labor, electrical, etc.)
  2. Validate repair procedures for accuracy (diagnosis, repair process, labor time, safety, etc.)
  3. Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising quality and safety of the repair
  4. Validate all service tooling prior to implementation to the field
  5. Support campaigns and containment initiatives

Skills

Required

  • Automotive Technology/Technician Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of automotive experience
  • 4+ years of EV experience
  • Strong diagnostics experience
  • Strong written and communications skills
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license

Nice to have

  • OEM Certified Master Technician is a plus
  • OEM Specific Technician Training is a plus
  • Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer
  • Experience working in start-up environments
  • Knowledge of EV Powertrains and HV systems
  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years
  • No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years
