AMD is hiring a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves ASIC development, including architecture design, logic design, system simulation, and module interface definition. The engineer will contribute to multidimensional designs, evaluate process flows, develop and execute characterization test plans for Datacenter GPUs focusing on power and performance tuning, and participate in developing automation environments using Linux, Python, and other tools. The role also includes developing and executing performance validation test plans for HPC/ML frameworks.

What you'd actually do

  1. Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory.
  2. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development.
  3. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation.
  4. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
  5. Develop and execute performance validation test plans for HPC/ML frameworks.

Skills

Required

  • Logic and circuit design
  • CMOS transistor design and RTL design to create integrated circuits (ICs)
  • CAD tools, including Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software and scripts, to design, verify, and manufacture integrated circuits (ICs)
  • TCL scripting to control and automate processes within the EDA tools used to create chips
  • Using Verilog, VHDL or SystemVerilog to design, model, and simulate digital systems and integrated circuits (ICs)
  • Utilizing design flows and methodologies for chip verification
  • ASIC design tools, such as synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, or static timing analysis (STA)
  • Scripting using Perl, Ruby or Python
  • CPU architecture, GPU architecture, or SoC architecture
