Workday is seeking a (Sr) Site Reliability Engineer for their Core Platform Engineering team supporting U.S. federal agencies. The role focuses on operating, monitoring, automating, maintaining, and providing metrics and observability for Core Services to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of the Workday Platform. This involves infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, incident handling, and troubleshooting. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensuring the Workday Platform is maintained, healthy, and ensures high availability for our customers through, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, reporting, incident handling and response, and observability tools.
  2. Maintain the overall platform: maintain core platform components, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  3. Automate and optimize: Assist development teams in automating service delivery, configuration management, and observability.
  4. Troubleshooting and support: Provide support and solve for platform-related issues, working closely with development teams to resolve problems.
  5. Documentation and knowledge sharing: Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform components and processes. Actively participate in knowledge sharing within the team.

Skills

Required

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • 5 years of hands-on experience working with large scale enterprise software solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
  • Object Oriented Design and Programming (Java, Kotlin, Scala preferred)
  • Build and Pipeline scripting
  • Automated unit and system testing
  • Load testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Deep appreciation of application development issues at enterprise level

Nice to have

  • TS/SCI w/CI Poly security clearance (active preferred)
