Sr Software Engineer - Av Labs
Uber's AV Labs is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to develop and deploy machine learning models for autonomous driving systems. This role involves researching and implementing novel algorithms for perception, prediction, and planning, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into the product.
What you'd actually do
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for autonomous driving systems, including perception, prediction, and planning.
- Research and implement novel algorithms and techniques to improve the performance and safety of our autonomous vehicles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, product managers, and other engineers, to define requirements and integrate AI solutions into the product.
- Optimize and scale machine learning models for real-time inference on embedded hardware.
- Contribute to the development of our AI infrastructure and tooling.
Skills
Required
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with deep learning models for computer vision and/or reinforcement learning
- Experience with software development best practices, including testing and version control
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice to have
- Experience with autonomous driving systems
- Experience with robotics and control systems
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud computing
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
