CrowdStrike is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer II for their Linux Sensor team. This role involves designing and developing core features for the lightweight Linux sensor, which observes system activity and identifies malicious behavior. The engineer will collaborate with other sensor development teams, conceptualize new product features, provide guidance on cross-platform development (Windows, macOS, Linux), and own features throughout their lifecycle. The role requires deep knowledge of C/C++, Linux OS internals, and experience debugging system performance issues. Familiarity with eBPF is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with all the sensor development teams, across the company, on architecture and strategic initiatives.
  2. Conceptualize and develop new product features.
  3. Provide guidance and support to development teams in designing and implementing software for cross-platform delivery (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  4. Take ownership of features throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery, including presenting product demonstrations at the conclusion of each sprint.
  5. Engage in cross-functional collaboration with teams situated in various locations.

Skills

Required

  • Deep knowledge of C/C++
  • Extensive, fundamental understanding of Linux OS internals
  • Proven experience in debugging memory corruption issues, process contentions, and system performance bottlenecks
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with teams to successfully deliver major features and releases
  • Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and operate effectively within a geographically distributed team

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated strong background in developing scalable, light-weight, and highly performing systems
  • In-depth OS system expertise regarding core concepts and subsystems
  • Familiarity and experience utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of security principles
  • Experience with eBPF
