Sr Solutions Engineer - Japan

Okta Okta · Enterprise · Tokyo, Japan · SE Field-321

This role is for a Sr. Solutions Engineer in Japan focused on Okta's identity platform, which is positioned as crucial for securing AI adoption. The role involves technical and business advisory to customers and partners throughout the sales cycle, collaborating with sales teams, demonstrating Okta's value, and supporting Proof of Concepts. While the company discusses AI's potential, the core function of the role is pre-sales technical consulting for identity solutions, not building or directly working with AI models or infrastructure.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with the sales team and related departments, acting as an authority on technology and the identity security domain, to ensure customers fully understand the value and potential of the Okta Platform.
  2. Communicate the value of adopting Okta solutions to customers in various roles—from practitioners and managers to C-level executives—to build trust.
  3. Explain concepts clearly to customers unfamiliar with Okta products or identity technology, while accurately answering questions from knowledgeable customers to establish credibility.
  4. Serve as a primary technical resource, confidently handling product features and detailed technical inquiries from customers, partners, and internal Okta teams.
  5. Support customers in executing Proof of Concepts (PoC) and technically demonstrate that adopting Okta’s identity solutions brings value to the customer.
